"see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil"
(unless the game is bad ;-)

This is new as of 12/01/97. It is, and always will be, also very incomplete. I do not work with games for a living, and therefore will have a very short list of very short reviews. At least, short relative to the number of PlayStation titles available. I'll be adding some images and hopefully a background sometime in the near future to relieve some of the drabness of this page. Take a look at my N64 review page while you're here.

What I will first do is put forth a short commentary on the PSX. I believe the PlayStation is the best console system on the market right now. While it may not have some of the graphic capabilities of the Nintendo 64, it is unparalleled as far as backgrounds and full motion video (FMV). It doesn't do polygons as well, but the memory space of CDs far surpasses anything the N64 can muster. It simply has broader capabilities; it can do a wider range of things well. Music and voices included. Frame rate is, in my opinion, perfectly acceptable, and the color palette is virtually unlimited. Kind of like the selection of games. Unfortunately, it attracts a lot of dud games. Production costs for PSX games are less than N64 or PC in many cases, and the huge market base combines with this to attract developers not particularly dedicated to producing a good title. I personally think there are more bad games out for the system than good ones. I have a page for each of the categories in the list below. You may notice the absence of a major category: Fighting. There's a good reason for this. I don't like them. So I don't play them. Therefore I can't review them. Sorry.
